In October 2024, a new expansion titled Chronicles: Battle for Greece was announced for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. Released on November 14, 2024, this expansion introduces three ancient civilizations—Achaemenids, Athenians, and Spartans—and features a 21-scenario campaign covering significant historical events such as the Ionian Revolt, the Greco-Persian Wars, and the Peloponnesian War.
